Tranquil Woods Trail Rides is a horseback trail riding service located directly across from the Eldred King Woodlands tract of the York Regional Forest. We take riders ages 7+ of all levels and we absolutely love to be the one to introduce you to the wonderful benefits that horses have to offer.
Our goal at Tranquil Woods is to get back to nature, stay active, unwind and de-stress. There is nothing like a quiet ride through this natural scenery to sooth away your stress and connect your mind, body and soul.
We love to host first time riders and experienced riders. The Tranquil Woods Trail Ride experience is great for dates, enjoying the outdoors with friends, or for a team or corporate bonding event. I started this business to share my love of horses with as many people as possible and I can’t wait to host you.

Jamie is our owner/operator. She is the friendly voice on the phone and the one who responds to your emails. Jamie cares daily for our team of horses and loves to share her knowledge and love of horses with our guests. Ask her anything!

Ace is a 16 year old black Standardbred gelding. He drove a cart for many years and now he's finding a slower pace being a trail horse. Ace is blind in his right eye but he is very handicapable! He is simply the sweetest boy around.

Buddy is a 20 year old chestnut Quarter Horse gelding. He used to be a lesson horse before he sustained an injury that ended his jumping career. Buddy is now a fixture on our trails, often leading the way. Don't be alarmed by his overly friendly nature, he is a lap dog stuck in a big horse's body!

Diesel is a 20 year old chestnut draft cross gelding. He is the first horse that Jamie ever owned! He is the friendliest boy, and will always check your pockets for snacks. His heart is a big as his stomach.

Elliot is a 17 year old Flea Bitten Grey Thoroughbred gelding. He has been a trail horse before and was given a few years off. Now he's back on the trails!

General is a 22 year old liver chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. General is a great-grandson of the legendary racehorse Secretariat and raced until he was 5 years old. With 35 starts and 7 wins under his belt General retired from racing and became the cool, calm and collected trail horse he is today.
Greeter
Lainey is a 2 year old Golden Labrador Retriever X Dutch Shepard. She is our official greeter at Tranquil Woods Trail Rides. She is very rambunctious and super friendly. If you like dogs Lainey loves to be loved.

Mack is a 15 year old Clydesdale-Hackney cross gelding. Don't let his size intimidate you, this handsome big boy is a gentle giant!

Q is a 13 year old bay Standardbred large pony mare. She is the sweetest of girls and super quiet, except for the purring noise she makes when breathing heavily. She loves scratches on her forehead and following her teammates on the trails. She is the most patient girl around.

RJ is a 14 year old dark bay Quarter horse type gelding. He always comes over to say hi to whoever is around. He has a playful attitude and likes to entertain us with his antics.

Stella is a 16 year old Paint mare. Stella is one of our rescue horses. She has come a long way from the horse we brought home. Stella is a quiet, loyal girl who would follow the love of her life, Diesel, to the ends of the earth.

Titan is a 12 year old palomino Belgium cross gelding. Titan was a working horse on an Amish farm before coming to us. He is settling into his new role as trail horse and is only being ridden by our trail guides at this time as he has yet to figure out how to work at our leisurely pace.
